Karl Moravek (1911–1943) was an Austrian engineer and race researcher who worked at the Racial Hygiene Research Office. Active in nationalist organizations from a young age, he joined the illegal NSDAP in 1933 and later the SS. He studied surveying and anthropology, completing a controversial dissertation on the genetics of the Burgenland Roma. He collected anthropometric data, which contributed to racial policies of the Nazis. Moravek worked on collecting data on Roma and died in 1943, likely during military operations in an area under German control.
