Karl-Otto Schultz was a German submarine captain during World War II, born on November 9, 1914, in Wesermünde. He joined the navy in 1935 and had his first command on U-34, but did not see action with it. His second submarine, U-216, sank the British passenger ship Boston, resulting in 17 casualties. Schultz died when his submarine was destroyed by a British B-24 Liberator on October 20, 1942, southwest of Ireland, along with 44 crew members.
