Karni Singh de Bikaner (1924-1988) was the 23rd Maharaja of Bikaner, succeeding his father, Maharaja Sadul Singh. Educated at prestigious colleges, he earned a Ph.D. for his thesis on Bikaner's relations with central powers. A member of the Lok Sabha from 1952 to 1977, he advocated for education and legal aid for the disadvantaged. He founded trusts to enhance tourism at Junagarh Fort and established a medical college. An accomplished shooter, he represented India in five Olympics and multiple international championships, earning national honors. He passed away in 1988.
