Karol Noskovič was a Slovak dissident born on March 8, 1933, in Viničné. At 18, he was arrested for spreading anti-communist leaflets and sentenced to six years in prison. He later worked as a laborer. From November 2004 to February 2008, he served as the chairman and from March 2008 as the vice-chairman of the Confederation of Political Prisoners of Slovakia. He was awarded the Order of Ľudovít Štúr III. class on September 1, 2008, for his contributions to democracy and human rights. He was also a founder of archery in Slovakia.
