Katarina Kieri is a Swedish writer born on January 15, 1965, in Luleå. She studied recreation education and later took a creative writing course. Kieri published her first poetry collection in 1993 and has contributed columns to various newspapers and magazines. She won the August Prize in 2004 for her young adult novel 'Does Elias Dance? No!' and received the Astrid Lindgren Prize in 2012. Kieri is active in the literary community, serving on the boards of the Swedish Writers' Union and the Swedish Authors' Fund.
