Katherine "Kay" Keating was an influential American military servicewoman and pharmacist born on February 8, 1922. She served in World War II with the WAVES and later joined the Navy Medical Service Corps. As the first female pharmacist in the US Navy and the first woman to rise from seaman to captain, she broke significant barriers for women in the military. After retirement, she owned a bed and breakfast and a horse ranch in Colorado. She was honored with induction into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 2008.
