Ivy Kathleen Arnott was a British writer and missionary, born on 19 November 1914 and known for her contributions to literature on African myths and legends. She authored several books, including the critically acclaimed 'Thunder And Lightning', which narrates the tale of an antihero named Lightning. Arnott was married to linguist David Whitehorn Arnott until his death in May 2004. She passed away in North Yorkshire on 8 May 2010, at the age of 95.
