Nora Kathleen 'Kay' Miller was a notable New Zealand swimmer born on April 21, 1909, in Dunedin. She competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics, entering both the 100 and 400 metre freestyle events. Although she reached the semi-finals, she did not make it to the finals. After retiring from competitive swimming, she shifted her focus to coaching and also played representative hockey for Otago and Wellington. She married Kenneth McFarlane in 1940 and lived in Wanganui until her death on April 16, 1963.
