Kathy Shields is a renowned Canadian basketball coach with a distinguished playing and coaching career. She played for the University of British Columbia and Laurentian University, winning CIAU Championships in 1974 and 1975. As a coach, she led the University of Victoria women's basketball team, achieving a remarkable record of 320–50 and winning numerous awards, including eight CIS Coach of the Year Awards. Shields also contributed to the Canadian national team, participating in multiple international competitions and earning numerous honors, including induction into the Canada Sports Hall of Fame and the Order of Canada.
