Katsuhiko Mikoshiba, born on March 3, 1945, is a Japanese neuroscientist known for his contributions to the study of inositol trisphosphate (IP3) receptors. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Keio University in 1973. Mikoshiba has held prominent positions including team leader at the RIKEN Brain Science Institute and is a professor at the ShanghaiTech University. Additionally, he is an honorary professor at the University of Tokyo and serves on the board of trustees at Keio University. He was born in Nagano Prefecture but raised in Tokyo.
