Yrjö Kalervo 'Kavo' Laurila, born on November 23, 1925, in Kouvola, is a Finnish aviation and parachuting enthusiast and active member of related organizations. Having earned a degree in economics, he spent his career in business while writing aviation and space articles for various media from 1956 to 2002. Recognized as a pioneer of Finnish parachuting, he co-founded Finland's first parachuting association in 1960, serving as its first chairman. He was involved with the Finnish Aviation Federation and contributed significantly to the development of parachuting in Finland.
