Kay Coombs OBE is a retired British diplomat born on July 8, 1945. She served as the UK ambassador to Mongolia from 1999 to 2001 and to Honduras from 2002 to 2003. Coombs began her career in the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1967, working at various embassies including Bonn, Zagreb, La Paz, Rome, and Beijing. In 1975, she participated in the UK’s engagement with global women’s rights at the UN Decade for Women conference. She was appointed OBE in 2005 and became an honorary member of the Queen's Messenger Corps in 2001.
