Kazuko Nishimura is a Japanese haiku poet born on March 19, 1948, in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. She attended Keio University, graduating in 1970. Nishimura joined 'Keio Haiku' upon entering university in 1966, studying under Toshiro Kiyosaki. She became involved with the 'Wakaba' group and later co-founded 'Chiin' with fellow poet Katsumi Yukue. Nishimura has received multiple awards, including the Haiku Association Newcomer Prize, and has been an active member since 1977. Since 2008, she has served as a judge for the Mainichi Haiku contest.
