Known for his craftsmanship, he earned the title 'the ukiyo-e master of Shōwa-era manga.' Kamimura worked with assistant Hitoshi Iwaaki during his career. Sadly, he passed away on January 11, 1986, at the age of 45 due to a pharynx tumor.
