Kees Roorda is a Dutch playwright and director, born on January 8, 1967, in Leeuwarden. He is a co-founder and artistic leader of the theater collective The Glasshouse. Roorda studied Dutch language and literature at the University of Groningen and later pursued arts and arts policy studies, which ignited his passion for theater. He created his first production, 'Glück' by Maximilian Dauthendey, and interned under notable directors Gerardjan Rijnders and Ivo van Hove. His collective has received financial support from major Dutch arts funds since 2009.
