Kei Taniguchi, born on May 6, 1955, is a Japanese manga artist from Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsuruoka National College of Technology. Initially, he debuted under the pen name Michinori Nojima and has used various other pseudonyms including his real name, Kazuo Kimura, as well as Norio Hirata and Keiko Taniguchi. His pen name was inspired by Kei Taniguchi, a radio personality who hosted a youth program on Yamagata Broadcasting.
