Kei Wakaizumi (March 29, 1930 – July 27, 1996) was a Japanese international political scholar and a former professor at the Faculty of Law, Kyoto Sangyo University. He played a significant role as a secret envoy for Prime Minister Eisaku Satō during the negotiations for the return of Okinawa. In his 1994 book 'Tasukinakarishiwoshinzemu to yokus', he revealed the details of secret agreements related to the Okinawa reversion. Tragically, he took his own life two years later.
