Keiko Akamatsu (January 18, 1931 - May 7, 2012) was a prominent haiku poet from Hiroshima, Japan. Her original name was Kae. After studying at Hiroshima Daiichi Girls' High School, she began her haiku career in 1947 under the mentorship of the poet Sōu Minayoshi. Akamatsu was known for her profound and imaginative haiku, often exploring themes of spirituality. She won several awards, including the 15th Haiku Association Award in 1975 and a cultural award from Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1994. Her notable works include collections such as 'Shiraou' and 'Tenei'.
