Keith Roland Matthews is a British cell biologist and parasitologist born on 24 June 1964. He is currently a Professor of Parasite Biology at the University of Edinburgh's School of Biological Sciences. His primary area of research involves African trypanosomes, which are protozoan parasites transmitted by the tsetse fly. These parasites are responsible for causing human sleeping sickness and the cattle disease known as nagana. His work contributes significantly to the understanding and potential treatment of these diseases.
