Kelly Shaefer is an American musician, composer, singer, and songwriter, born on September 13, 1968, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He began his musical career in 1984 with the band Oblivion, which later became R.A.V.A.G.E. and eventually Atheist in 1988. Shaefer recorded four albums with Atheist until 2010. He founded the band Neurotica during Atheist's hiatus, releasing three albums. In 2002, he auditioned for Velvet Revolver and Drowning Pool. Shaefer also collaborated with bands Unheard and Pyroclastic. He faced health issues in the 90s that affected his guitar playing and currently operates a bar.
