Kenneth Leo Lyons (1953–2012) was a prominent bass guitarist and a founding member of the southern rock band 38 Special. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, he established the band in 1974 with several other musicians. Lyons played on their debut self-titled album and was part of the group until 1977. He left before the band's first album release and was succeeded by Larry Junstrom. Lyons passed away on May 20, 2012, at the age of 59, following health issues.
