Kenneth Victor McElligott was an Australian politician born on February 14, 1940, in Maryborough. He served as an administrative officer before his political career, which began with his election to Townsville City Council in 1976 as a member of the Labor Party. McElligott became Deputy Mayor in 1980 and was later elected to the Queensland Legislative Assembly, representing Townsville and later Thuringowa. His ministerial roles included Minister for Health and Minister for Lands. He was defeated in 1998 by a One Nation candidate.
