Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. In 1966, he invented artificial double tracking (ADT), a major technological advancement in sound recording. Townsend dedicated 42 years of his career at EMI, culminating in his retirement as Chairman of the Studio Group, solidifying his legacy in the music industry.
