He performed regularly with the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra and played in prestigious venues across Britain, Europe, and North America. Higgins released several LPs and CDs, favored the Steinway piano, and hosted various radio programs for 17 years. He enjoyed outdoor activities like sailing and golf and passed away in Hermanus after his last concert on April 25, 2016.
