Kenny Washington, born Clark Kent on December 9, 1957, in New Orleans, is an American jazz singer. He began his career as a gospel singer and was inspired by jazz after hearing clarinetist Alvin Batiste in high school. After studying music at Xavier University, he performed with various bands starting in 1979. He later served in the U.S. Navy, joining the Navy Band in 1986, and traveled globally as a vocalist and saxophonist. Washington settled in Los Angeles in 1995 and participated in notable jazz theatre productions.
