Brinkley participated in significant jazz recordings, contributing to albums like 'Keep Your Soul Together' and 'High Energy.' He was involved in over eight recording sessions in the jazz genre between 1967 and 1979 and led his own group later in his career, including vibraphonist Donald Moors.
