Kent Samuelsson was a Swedish military officer born on May 2, 1956, in Stockholm. He became an officer in 1978, progressing to captain of Gotland's air defense battalion in 1983, and was promoted to major in 1989. Samuelsson served with the United Nations in Yugoslavia, Geneva, and New York from 1993 to 1994 and in Afghanistan from 2000 to 2002. He held various command positions, including as chief of Gotland's air defense regiment from 1997 to 1998 and the air defense regiment from 2003 to 2005. He passed away on August 8, 2016.
