Kenzō Hōjō (born March 1, 1929) is a Japanese Buddhist monk and honorary professor at Taisho University. He hails from Nakano, Tokyo, and graduated from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. He left the doctoral program in Indian Philosophy at Tohoku University in 1965 but later obtained his Ph.D. in Literature from the same university in 1990 with a focus on Indian mystical language and thought. Hōjō served as associate professor and then professor at Taisho University, eventually retiring in 1999, and is also the head priest at Tōkō-ji in Nakano.
