Abdülkerim Korcan (1918-1990) was a Turkish writer born in Aktefek, Sakarya. He had limited formal education, completing only four grades of primary school. He experienced political persecution, including imprisonment for his alleged communist propaganda. Korcan spent a significant part of his life in prisons between 1938 and 1948, later facing another investigation in 1957. Despite adversity, he became recognized for creating the character Tatar Ramazan and achieved second place in the Milliyet newspaper's competition for his interview titled 'Köşe'.
