She gained public attention in the 1990s due to a custody battle over her children. After marrying American Miguel Campoy in 1990, they later divorced, leading her to abduct their children to Finland. Despite legal battles, by March 1999, the children were returned to their father. In her later life, she moved to Madeira and ran a restaurant. She passed away on March 15, 2023, due to pancreatic cancer.
