Kerttu Saariaho was a Finnish porcelain painter known for her exquisite porcelain plaques and vases. She began her career in the 1950s and established her own porcelain painting school in the 1960s. Saariaho earned her master’s degree in porcelain painting in 1962 and expanded her artistic repertoire through various techniques. Most of her works were created in the 1970s and 1980s, amounting to around two hundred pieces. Her son Markku Saariaho published a book documenting her life and work, showcasing her contributions to porcelain painting in Finland during the latter half of the 20th century.
