Khalīl al-Miqdād is a Syrian writer and professor, born in 1946 in Busrasham, Daraa Governorate. He served as a teacher in Damascus and Aleppo from 1969 to 1975, then became a researcher at the French Institute of Archaeology in the Middle East in 1979-1980. He was the Director of Antiquities and Museums in Daraa from 1986 to 1994. He is a member of the Research and Studies Association in the General Union of Arab Writers and has published works in Arabic and French, including ‘Hauran Throughout History’ and ‘Le théâtre antique de Bosra’.
