Ds. Cupido (Kiepie) David Jaftha was a prominent South African minister, educator, and community leader born in Cape Town on May 31, 1949. He founded the Reformed Church Heidedal in Bloemfontein in 1977, where he served as a full-time minister for thirteen years. From 1987 until 1994, he also served the Reformed Church Bronville, but that congregation dissolved in 1994. He retired as the deputy chairperson of the Federation of Governing Bodies of South African Schools in the Northern Cape at the end of 2021, after five years of service.
