Kim Chi, born Sang-Young Shin on August 8, 1987, is a Korean-American drag queen, artist, entrepreneur, and TV personality. She gained fame as a competitor in Season 8 of RuPaul's Drag Race, where she was the first Korean American contestant. Kim Chi made history as the first Korean American drag queen on U.S. national television. In June 2019, New York magazine ranked her 17th on their list of the 'Most Powerful Drag Queens in America,' which featured 100 former Drag Race contestants. She also owns Kim Chi Chic Cosmetics.
