Kimberly LaGayle McCarthy was an American death row inmate and suspected serial killer, convicted in 1997 for the murder of her elderly neighbor, Dorothy Booth, during a robbery in Texas. She faced further scrutiny as a suspect in two additional murders of elderly women. After exhausting her appeals, she was scheduled for execution in January 2013, but it was postponed twice before she was executed on June 26, 2013. McCarthy maintained her innocence throughout, asserting she was wrongly accused.
