She is recognized for her research in Celtic and fantasy literature and is a Professor Emeritus at Meisei University. Additionally, she serves as the president of the Fairy Association and is a lifetime member of the Folklore Society in the UK. She is the director of the Fairy Art Museum in Kaneyama, Fukushima, and was appointed honorary director of the Utsunomiya Fairy Museum, which opened in 2007 after her donation of Celtic and fairy-related materials.
