Kinosuke Iwahori was a Japanese publishing entrepreneur born on April 25, 1910, in Kanagawa Prefecture. He founded Heibonsha, now known as Magazine House, in 1954. Iwahori aspired to be a newspaper reporter and attended Meiji University but was expelled. He later graduated from Nihon University Law School. He began his career at Jiji Press in 1933 and established Banjinsha in 1945 before founding his most notable company. He passed away on October 8, 1982. His daughter, Emiko Arai, is a noted nonfiction writer.
