Kio Kuroda (February 28, 1926 - July 10, 1984) was a Japanese poet born in Sagae, Yamagata Prefecture. After graduating from elementary school, he moved to Tokyo and worked as a factory laborer in the Keihin industrial zone. He joined the Japanese Communist Party post-war, participating in peasant movements. Despite health issues, he created poetry and contributed to various literary magazines, gaining recognition. In 1959, he published his first poetry collection 'Anxiety and Guerrilla,' winning the H Prize the next year. He is noted for merging proletarian and avant-garde poetry in post-war literature.
