Kip E. Tom served as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture and led the U.S. Mission in Rome from 2019 to 2021. He has been involved with significant U.S. agencies related to food and agriculture, including the FAO. Prior to this role, he was the CEO of Tom Farms, one of Indiana's largest farming operations, and ran unsuccessfully in the 2016 Republican primary for Indiana's 3rd congressional district.
