Kirsti Tarja Launela, born on May 13, 1948, is a former Finnish javelin thrower. She competed in the javelin event at the 1971 Helsinki European Championships, finishing 15th in the qualifying round. Launela represented Finland in 14 international matches between 1966 and 1972, and she was a member of the Kemijärven Urheilijat sports club. She set a Finnish record in 1971 with a throw of 56.48 meters. Her twin sister, Kaisa Launela, was also a champion javelin thrower and represented Finland in international competitions.
