Kitaw Ejigu was an Ethiopian scientist and politician, renowned for his four decades at NASA as a chief spacecraft and satellite systems engineer. He made significant contributions to Planetary Science Research and Exploration through his inventions of spacecraft and rockets. Notably, he co-invented the Flight Dynamic Simulator and the Advanced Global Positioning Satellite System. Kitaw was the first aerospace scientist and held a leadership role in Ethiopian Automotive Services before relocating to the United States. He passed away on January 13, 2006, following a stroke.
