Kiyonomori Masao (real name Masao Sasaki) was a Japanese sumo wrestler born on April 8, 1935, in Ōmori, Akita. He made his debut in January 1953 and reached the top division by March 1959, achieving a highest rank of maegashira 9. After retiring from competition, he served as an elder in the Japan Sumo Association and led Kise stable. He turned 65 and reached the mandatory retirement age in April 2000, later passing away due to pneumonia on April 20, 2019, at the age of 84.
