K. J. Joy was an Indian composer and music director known for his contributions to the Malayalam film industry. He was born on 14 June 1946 and began his career in 1974, having previously worked as an accordion recording artist. Mentored by MS Viswanathan, he proved his potential early on, leading to his first film, 'Love Letter', in 1975. Over his career, he composed music for 71 films. Joy passed away on 15 January 2024, at the age of 77.
