Kōi Naitō was a Japanese radio announcer born on June 2, 1939, in Yamanashi Prefecture. Graduating from Nihon University in 1962, he joined Radio Kanto, later known as Radio Nippon. Over his 39-year career, he specialized in sports broadcasts, especially baseball, covering over 1,500 games of the Yomiuri Giants. He retired in 2000 after the Japan Series and was known as a pioneering 'screaming announcer,' significantly contributing to sports broadcasting alongside fellow announcer, Ishimasa Kubo. He passed away from acute heart failure on April 10, 2020, at the age of 80.
