Kōichi Kikuta (born December 15, 1934) is a prominent Japanese legal scholar specializing in criminal law, criminology, and criminal policy. He earned a Doctor of Law degree from Meiji University in 1967 and is a professor emeritus at the same institution. Kikuta is also the vice-chairman of the Prison Rights Center and serves as the chairman of the nonprofit organization, the Crime and Delinquency Council. Notably, he awards the 'Kikuta Criminology Award' annually to young researchers for significant contributions in the field of criminology.
