Kōichi Kitamura is a follower of the Aum Shinrikyo religious movement, born on February 16, 1968, in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. In 1995, he played a role as the getaway driver for one of the perpetrators involved in the sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway. He was convicted in 2009 and received a life sentence for his involvement in the attack, and he remains incarcerated.
