Kōichi Shioda, born on September 23, 1945, is a former announcer for Akita Television and served as the deputy director of the news production department. He hails from Otaru, Hokkaido, and graduated from Nihon University. Joining Akita Television when it opened in 1969, he hosted the long-running show 'Kubota Folk Song Country Tour' until March 2005 and was the main anchor for the evening local news 'Teleport Akita' from 1978 to 1989. After turning 60 in 2005, he continued to work until his retirement in September 2006.
