Kōichi Tsushima (May 6, 1931 - March 21, 2004) was a Japanese actor known for his work in theater and television. He was the son of politician Bunji Tsushima and a nephew of writer Osamu Dazai. Tsushima graduated from Aomori Prefectural Hirosaki High School and joined the theatrical company Nakama in 1955. He appeared in stage productions like 'The Forest is Alive' and in NHK's historical dramas, including 'The Three Sisters' (1967) and 'Inochi' (1986). He tragically passed away after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage during a performance.
