Kojirou Nishizumi (January 13, 1914 - May 17, 1938) was a military officer in the Imperial Japanese Army, achieving the rank of Army Infantry Captain. He was born in Nitagokuchi, Kosamo Town, Kumamoto Prefecture. Active during the Second Sino-Japanese War, he served as a tank commander during significant battles, including the Second Shanghai Incident and the Battle of Xuzhou. Posthumously, he became the first military figure officially designated as a 'war god' by the military leadership following his death in battle.
