He graduated from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo, where he serves as professor emeritus and associate professor. Uehara has significantly contributed to several major hydroelectric dam projects in Brazil since the latter half of the 20th century, including notable constructions such as Barra Bonita, Bariri, Ibitinga, Promissão, Três Irmãos, Jupiá, Ilha Solteira, and Itaipu.
